These bags are different from the old style textured bags as you can tell, they are flat on both sides of the bag which means no leaking when pulling a vacuum with ANY machine. The reason these bags work as opposed to regular flat bags is the small micro layer sheet between the flat sides. This micro layer sheet allows the air to be drawn out of the bag in the same way the old texture style bags do. Some machines will actually flatten out the old texture during vacuuming; this is impossible with the Micro-layer bags. The bag preparation is exactly the same as with your old style bags with one exception: You must have your product actually touching the very bottom of the micro layer sheet itself. Notice that the micro layer only extends halfway through the bag. This design assumes that with an 8”x12” bag the product you pack will be about 6” long. If when you place your product into the bag you find it sits well below the micro layer, you simply position the product so that it touches the micro layer about ¼”.
