There is a series of video's related to the VacUpack and Vacuum Packing in this web site. At the bottom of the page watch how to operate the VacUpack. Then be sure to look under the other catagories for further video instructions.
IMPORTANT TIPS for our valued Vacupack customers!
Here are a couple of important operating tips to ensure your Vacupack machine will give you years of trouble free operation.
Bag placement: When you place your bag around the middle brown vacuum nozzle, make certain you do NOT go above the raised brown line on the nozzle. Tuck the textured side of the bag under the nozzle and let the flat side rest on top of the nozzle, pull the bag so it is still on the nozzle but BELOW the raised brown line and lay bag flat against the lower black pressure pad and begin vacuuming. If the bag is at or above the raised line you may not get any vacuum, or weak vacuum due to the traction pins on the underside of the nozzle.
Vacuum operation: When you are ready to start the vacuum process, place both hands on either side of operating lid/arm and press down with gentle force evenly with both hands. When the vacuum slider gauge turns from red to green (or you are satisfied with amount of vacuum) press the operating arm/lid completely down with even force on both sides to seal bag
Sealing tip: Most bags require about 3-5 seconds of sealing time for a proper seal. Your machine has been adjusted for optimal function however temperature and elevation changes may require you to set the seal time accordingly. This is done with the brown knob on the right side of the machine. To turn the seal time down, rotate this knob counter-clockwise, to turn it up higher, rotate clockwise. (Note the numbers on the side of this knob do NOT represent seconds, they are a relative position indicator.)
Bag leakage: If you find your machine seems to pull a tight vacuum and later inspection of the packed product shows air has leaked into the bag, here are some helpful tips: First inspect your seal, the sealed portion of the bag should have a uniform seal across the full width of the bag with no wrinkles or cold spots (spots where there is no seal and bag can be pulled apart just turn up the sealing time as above.) A wrinkle in the seal indicates you may not have left enough bag material at the top to lay flat within the pressure pads, simply reseal the bag with it laying completely flat. If that fails to fix the problem, then inspect the side factory seals of the bag, they can sometimes wrinkle also and allow air to fill the bag. If a portion of your bag order looks as if it has too many wrinkles or air pockets on the sides, simply take that portion and reseal the factory seal with your Vacupack the way you do a new open-ended bag. This will create a new seal that should fix any factory seal defects. If the complete roll or order seems to have the same problem, simply send unused portion of your order back to us with a short note explaining the problem and we will be glad to send you replacement bags.
These are the most commonly overlooked problems with operation and if you follow the above you should get the maximum results from your Vacupack machine. If not, please call our technical support at 1-800-227-3769 or visit www.pmgquality.com
